Over the recent, years, the leading cause of
female mortality has shifted. Heart disease has made its way
to the top of the list. It is a prevalent misnomer that breast
cancer is the leading health risk in women.
Contrary
to popular belief heart disease is not only a male dominant
health detriment. Quite the opposite, heart disease is responsible
for the vast majority of deaths in women than all types of cancers
combined. Some 489,000 female deaths are attributed to heart
disease. Today, it is the single most significant health risk
issue for women in the United States.
An actuality,
the annual percentage of women who perish from heart disease
out in the United States each year outnumbers men. Even more
disturbing a market survey conducted by the American Heart Association
found that only 13 percent of women were aware of the dangers
and severity of heart disease and their health.
On a positive
note and unlike breast cancer, heart disease is one of them
most preventable medical conditions. Regardless of one’s gender,
everyone may prevent a heart attack:
1) Avoid
smoking cigarettes, cigars and other intoxicants
2) Try
to regular limit alcoholic intake to less than five drinks a
week
3) Consume
foods opulent in vitamins, minerals and nutrients (in example
vegetables, fruits and whole-grain products).
4) Make
physical activity and exercise a part of your regular routine
5) Try
not to eat fried, fatty and processed foods
6) Reduce
stress by meditating, avoiding conflict,
adopting relaxation skills
7) If you
are at high risk of heart disease, consult your physician to
determine if you should take a daily low
dose of aspirin. |
